However our electric kit is low voltage which means you can have power up to 50mtrs away, allowing you to run low voltage cable yourself legally without employing an electrician.

The E8 farm gate opener comes with our 45 watt solar panel to provide you with a higher rate of charge for your 12v 14ah battery. Also with our solar panel is a mounting bracket for easy installation and 10mtrs of cable.
Also supplied in our kits is a PWM solar controller. These controllers operate at a relatively constant harvesting efficiency regardless of the size of the solar panel. The PWM controller works by reducing the amount of power going into your battery as it approaches capacity. When your battery is full, PWM controllers maintain a state of “trickle”, which means they supply a tiny amount of power constantly to keep the battery topped up.
The farm gate's stainless steel actuator arm is a maintenance free system which provides a user friendly experience. Providing your gate is well hinged, level and plumb with the post then you will have a stress free operation of your gate.
Most rural farm gates are hinged from a round post. We have designed round post brackets as an option when purchasing our kits.
The standard bracket supplied in the kit is a flat 100mm x 90mm bracket which can still be used on round posts by chiseling out a small section for the standard bracket to attach too.
However, if your post is around the 150mm in diameter or smaller then you may prefer the option of these round post brackets. This way you don't run the risk of weaking your post by chiseling into it or you may prefer less messing around when doing the install.
We have had a round gate bracket fabricated to suit Australia's rural farm gates. This gate bracket acts like a clamp around your farm gate tubing which provides a flat surface for the standard gate bracket supplied in the kit to attach too.
Using this round gate bracket allows easy adjustment when first setting up your kit and also doesn't require drilling through your gate unlike the standard gate bracket requires.
Does your farm gate push out towards the road? No problem!
Using our 'push to open bracket' you can have the actuator arm positioned on the inside of the property which then allows the arm to push your gate outwards.
Take note that your actuator arm will take up approximately 200mm into the driveway area (as shown in image opposite) when the gate is in the full open position.
If you cannot afford to lose 200mm of your opening then you can mount the actuator arm on the outside of the gate, now pulling the gate open you will not require the 'push to open bracket'.

The E8 Farm Gate Opener

Best positioning for your solar panel is North facing and our installation manuals will advise the perfect degree depending on the area and state you're located in.

Installation is showing another a push to open setup using the push to open bracket. As you can see this bracket is providing a really good angle between the gate and arm that is required. Without the push to open bracket your actuator arm will run parallel with the gate causing all sorts of issues.
