If you have set auto close the learn will not work. You must turn auto close off before doing the learn. Factory setting for auto close will be off.
You must make sure the gate is in the open position and that the control board has recongnised this before doing the learn. It doesn't matter if your gate is open or closed when you apply power to the board. Press your remote, if the gate is open it will pull back and the board will say OP SP or if your gate is closed when you press the remote it will open and when fully open it will say OP SP.
From there you will now hold down the DEC and INC buttons together until the gate takes off (now release the buttons) the gate will close and reopen. Now the system has learnt it's parameters. Now press your remote and see how the system runs.
If you try the above steps and it still doesn't work, please call the office and speak with out tech 07 3205 3002
If you feel that the gate is running slow, make sure you have done the travel function or learn of the system. You will find these details in your manual or you can watch the video online.
If you have an electric kit with the backup battery, it may be running on battery only. Try unplugging the battery and see if the kit runs direct off the transformer. If it does then you will need to do some checks. 1. check transformer fuse 2. check the transformer itself 3. check the power point that the transformer is wired too 4. check the cable if extra added between the transformer and main control board.
If you have solar and haven't changed the battery in a couple of years, try charging your battery with a 12volt battery charger and see if a fully charged battery runs the gate quicker.
Generally if your battery isn't working first thing in the morning but works later in the day when the sun is on your solar panel then you will most likely require a new battery
Try charging your battery
If your battery is 3 years or older replace it
If you have a multimeter, test the battery under load while trying to operate the gate, it should remain above 12volts
Under load check your solar regulator battery lights to see if they are mostly solid. If they drop to one or it starts flickering then replace or charge your battery depending on their age
Check your power point where the transformer is plugged in
Check your transformer with a multimeter at the control board and you should be getting minimum 15v - 19v AC
If you have extra cable from the transformer to the control board and you don't get the correct voltage reading as noted above, go back to the main transformer and take the reading from where you have attached your extra cable run.
Check your fuse
If you have a backup battery you can try charging it with a battery charger to see if the unit runs on battery only
You can take the red and blue cable from the actuator arm and run them direct to the battery. Placing them one way on the battery will extended the arm and reversing the cables on the battery will retract the arm.
We have hard wired and wireless push buttons so we will try to cover both here
Hard Wired Button
Check for insect infestation in your push button housing
Check cabling by removing the cable from the push button and tapping them together - this should activate the gate. Re wire to the push button and see if it works.
Try contact spray or WD40 on the internal connectors and see if this helps
If the above help doesn't reslove the issue you will need a new push button.
Wireless Button - this may be tuned directly to the main control board or a separate receiver
Do you have insect infestation (past or present) in your push button housing? If yes, then you will require a new push button.
If you press the small green knob inside the push button, does the internal orange light show on the small remote board? If yes you can try re tuning your button to your device in case it has dropped out. If no, try pressing the small white button on the remote board, now does the orange light come on? if yes, try re wiring the internal PCB to the button incase it doesn't have a good connection. If no, try replacing the internal battery. If you replace the internal battery and still no orange light shows, you will need a new push button.
Your push button may be tuned to a separate receiver which you will need to check - if there is no separate receiver then your button will be tuned direct to the main control board of the motor.
If you have a separate receiver, do you have the KP receiver? see troubleshooting for this receiver below.
This means you have a loose connection or your terminals on your battery (if solar) are loose. Try tightening the battery spades when on the battery (they should be difficult to pull off). Also try tidying all cables up and re wiring.
